Loving Memory of Sung Jae (Jason) Cho September 12, 1978 – March 4, 2025 Sung Jae (Jason) Cho, beloved father, son, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2025, at home in Taylor, Texas, surrounded by his children and family. Born in Seoul, Korea, on September 12, 1978, Jason came to the United States at the tender age of one with his parents, Jinhee Lee and Yung Shik Cho. Jason spent most of his life in Georgetown, Texas. He attended Georgetown High School, where he built lasting friendships and fond memories. As a teen, he helped run his family’s bicycle and car stereo installation business, a staple in the community for many years. A man of faith, Jason accepted God in his adult years and lived his life with kindness, humility, and devotion to his beliefs. Jason later found his passion in home insulation, working for Affordable Insulations, where he formed a deep friendship with his mentor, Mark Truxillo. Through dedication and hard work, Jason became co-owner of the business, leaving a lasting mark in the industry. Jason’s life was one of dedication, sacrifice, and joy. He gave everything to his children and his family. Above all, he was a devoted father, whose world was made whole by the love he had for his 4 children. Despite battling health issues for the past six years, he fought bravely, holding on for the milestones that mattered most, watching his youngest son Angelo graduate high school and enter college, seeing his 2 oldest boys’ Baby Jason and Daniel step into adulthood, seeing his daughter Aaliyah run a successful business and spending precious moments with the people he loved most. His greatest joy was watching his children grow into the strong, independent adults he always knew they would be. He beamed with pride and always bragged to anyone and everyone about all their accomplishments every chance he got. Jason was passionate about many things in life, especially his love for sports. He loved his Michigan Wolverines and was devoted to his Detroit Lions. Jason enjoyed watching every game with excitement and enthusiasm and was always hopeful for a winning season. He enjoyed watching every game with his family and friends. Jason’s best friend, Geraldo Chairez, was something truly special to him. Their friendship began in their teenage years, built on loyalty, laughter, and an unbreakable bond that carried them through life’s highs and lows. From reckless adventures to quiet moments of understanding, they stood by each other, brothers in everything. Geraldo was there through Jason’s struggles and triumphs, never wavering, always showing up. And when Jason’s final journey came, Geraldo remained by his side, just as he always had—offering love, strength, and the kind of friendship that never fades, even in the face of goodbye. Marcus Carranco, his brother in business and in his heart, together, they navigated the highs and lows of work, always having each other's backs. Their bond extended far beyond the office—countless poker nights, endless laughter, and unwavering support defined their friendship. They even built a fantasy football league together, turning their shared passion for the game into yet another reason to stay connected. Through every challenge and every triumph, Marcus was more than a friend—he was family to Jason. In his final years, Jason called Taylor, Texas, home, sharing a household filled with love alongside his daughter Aaliyah, her mother Joyce and her husband Victor Salazar. His passing was peaceful, with his family by his side, a testament to the deep love that surrounded him in life. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother and his brother-in-law, Johnny Joe (Jay) Reyes. He is survived by his mother, Jinhee Lee of Seoul, Korea; his father and stepmother, Yung Shik Cho and Hyonhee Kim Cho of Grand Rapids, Michigan; his brother and sister Kent Cho and Jennifer Kim of Grand Rapids, Michigan, his sons, Jason Jaedon of San Antonio Texas, Daniel Valentino (Deziree) of Granger, Texas, Angelo Isaiah of Taylor, Texas, his daughter, Aaliyah Lynnea of Taylor, Texas and countless relatives and friends who will forever hold his memory close. Jason’s life was a testament to resilience, love, and the unbreakable bond of family. He was a fighter, a provider, and above all, a father who loved his children beyond measure. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit will live on in every laugh, every memory, and every moment of love shared with those he considered family. We will miss you, Jason, but your love will guide us always. Rest easy, knowing your family and friends carries you in their hearts forever.
