Obituary Stephanie Gadison was born on May 2, 1969, in Greenville, Mississippi, to the late Charlie and Doris Gadison. As the eighth of ten children, she was raised in a large, loving family where faith, laughter, and togetherness shaped who she became. She graduated from T.L. Weston High School in Greenville, Mississippi, in 1988, and from an early age was known for her big personality, quick wit, and a heart firmly rooted in family and truth. In 1990, Stephanie welcomed her son, Devarus Wright, and in 1996, her daughter, Sequoya Gadison. Becoming a mother was one of the greatest joys of her life. She loved her children fiercely and never hesitated to keep it real with them, often saying, “Your mama always gon’ tell you the truth.” Her love showed up as honesty, support, and a protective spirit that never wavered. As her family grew, she welcomed a daughter in love and four grandchildren: Noah, Kingston, Londyn, and Nasir. She embraced her role as “GaGa” with pride and joy. Some of her happiest moments were spent simply being with them, laughing, talking, and creating memories they will hold close forever. Throughout most of her life, Stephanie worked in the hospitality service industry, where her natural gifts truly shined. She had a way of making people feel welcome and seen, whether they were family, friends, or customers she had just met. Her strong work ethic, quick humor, and warm smile left a lasting impression on everyone who crossed her path. Stephanie was full of life and could light up any room she walked into. She enjoyed playing pitty pat and BINGO, and she loved to cook and bake. One of her favorite meals to make was T-bone steak with broccoli and cheese, a baked potato, and garlic bread, and she was always willing to try new recipes she found online. The kitchen was one of the places where her love really showed, especially when she was baking peanut butter cookies with her grandkids. Those simple, sweet moments, with music playing, the oven going, and kids laughing, were some of the memories that defined her. Known for being outspoken and real, Stephanie believed in keeping it honest and never sugarcoating the truth. “I’m sick of that” was one of her favorite sayings, and those who knew her can still hear her voice and see her expression when she said it. Her favorite song, “Love Scene” by Joe, was part of the soundtrack to her life and holds a special place in the hearts of those who loved her. Stephanie was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Doris Gadison, and her siblings, Charlie Gadison, Teresa Gadison, and Emma Jean Gadison. She is survived by her children, Devarus Wright (Carol Wright) and Sequoya Gadison; her grandchildren, Londyn Wright, Kingston Wright, Nasir Gadison, and Noah Byrd Jr.; her siblings, Lorraine Bush (Dennis Bush), Dwayne Gadison, Lisa Gadison, Marcus Gadison (Iris Gadison), Laverne Gadison, and Debra Gadison; her sister in law, Karen Gadison; and her best friend of 33 years, Debbie Pearson. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss her deeply. Stephanie’s life was a beautiful mix of laughter, honesty, and love. Her bold spirit, bright smile, and unforgettable presence will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
