Nobie Lee Caldwell was born the third child to Johnnie Caldwell and Ida Mae McKenzie in Fayette County, La Grange, Texas on June 21, 1931. Four brothers preceded her in death, James Caldwell, Sr., Johnnie Caldwell and Arthur Ray Caldwell Eason and Isiah Caldwell. In her early years, her mother sent her to Austin to attend Austin public schools where she graduated from L. C. Anderson High School. She met and was married to Charles Ray, December 21, 1963. Their daughter Glenda, preceded her in death. Nobie and Charles children included Louise Easter of Sacramento, California, Shirley, David and Debra. Nobie had a passion for caring for families and she spent many years caring for the Dr. Caldwell family, the McGee family, the Rich family, Peggy Marek and many others. She received Christ at an early age in LaGrange and upon moving to Austin, united with Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church under the late Rev. E. L. Roberts. Later she became of founding member of Antioch Baptist Church, under the Rev. W. R. Jasper, where she faithfully served as District leader, Mission II President, worked with City Wide Mission, BLH Bradshaw Mission II as Treasurer for many years and served with the Austin City wide Youth Sponsor under the late Dr. Ruth Sauls. She was a youth teacher with the Missionary Baptist General Convention of Texas; Dr. G.V. Clark, President. She was a current member and spokesperson for the ADAPT program; she received Caretaker of the Year for 50 years of service. To cherish her memories: her husband, Charles Ray; grandson, Tivon Spears, daughters, Louise Easter (Clyde), Shirley (Kevin), Debra (Donnie), Hosetta (Milton), Esther (John), Paula (Henry), Carmon (Nathanial); Special daughters: Ronetta, Ebonee, Lena, Rosa (deceased), Cathy and Gwin, Ericka; God children, Cameron, Christian, Sons: David (Sandra-deceased), James (Rose), James “Buddy”(deceased), Hosea Jr; Sister: James Emma Grant, Granddaughters: Daniyah, De’Lynn, Kimberly, Laura, Kendra; Sisters-in-law, Lois Eason, Jamie Dorsey; Brother-in-law, James Guyton; Godsons: Minster Tony Brown, Pastor Kenneth Miller; God-grandsons: Tavian, Terry, Shawn, Melivn, Louis, Jeremiah, Prince Bentley. Special niece and nephew, Linda (Pastor Carl Sr.) Harvey, Darrell (Sharon) Caldwell and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Special friends: Louise Thompson, Willie R.
