Obituary On November 5th 1960; a beautiful baby girl was born named Marsha Yvette Reynolds was born to Ellis Leon Reynolds and Clara Beth Reynolds at Chelsea Naval Hospital in Chelsea, Massachusetts. She attended public schools in Austin and graduated from David Crockett High School, earning not only her diploma but also a cosmetology license. Marsha did not stop there. Later in life, she earned her Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license and pursued business studies, always striving to better herself. At a very early age, Marsha confessed her love for and faith in Christ. She knew her Bible from front to back. If you ever had a question about scripture, all you had to do was ask Marsha. Her Bible looked like a college textbook—filled with notes, highlights, and reflections—evidence of a life grounded in faith and study. Although Marsha followed several career paths throughout her life, the one that brought her the most joy was nursing. And not just any nursing—Marsha was known for taking on the hardest assignments. None was more challenging than her work as a nurse at Austin State Hospital (ASH). She was so skilled and trusted that physicians often asked her to assist with and participate in tasks beyond the typical scope of practice for an LVN. They had complete confidence in her abilities, and she consistently exceeded expectations. Marsha united in holy matrimony with Jerry Lemond Favors in 1991 and remained devoted to him even after his passing. From that union, Marsha had two children, Jerree Lemonda Favors and Ciara Yvette Favors. Prior to that union, Marsha had one child, Lucas Alan Reynolds. With her husband, son, and daughters, Marsha’s life was full of family, love, and joy. Marsha was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Lemond Favors; her daughter, Jerree Lemonda Favors; her parents, Ellis and Clara Reynolds; and her in-laws, L.C. Favors and Johnny Mae Favors. She leaves behind to mourn her loss her son, Lucas Alan Reynolds (Elizabeth) her daughter, Ciara Yvette Favors; her brothers, Harold Reynolds (Virginia), Keith Reynolds, and Paul Reynolds (Laura); and her brother-in-law, Addison Jerome Favors. She also leaves behind grandchildren, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, and a host of relatives and friends. One of Marsha’s fondest memories was being able to spend time with Jerree Samaria Reynolds (“backscratcher/Tinkie-Winkie). There are many people Marsha treated like her own children—and proudly called them so. Her love extended far beyond her immediate family, and her legacy lives on in all the lives she touched.
