https://www.flipsnack.com/alcbf/newkirk.html Laura Faye Frederick was born on October 26, 1965 to the late Leroy Frederick, Sr. and Darlene (Hardeman) Clayton. Laura departed this life to go home to be with her heavenly father on May 10, 2021. Laura attended schools in the Taylor Independent School District. She graduated from Taylor High School in 1984. On October 2, 1982, Laura gave birth to a beautiful son, her only child, Corey Jamal Frederick. After graduating high school, Laura went straight to work and over the years worked at different jobs including Intercraft, Seventh Street Daycare and IBM. She also worked at Tellabs in Round Rock where she met the love of her life, Anthony. After the closure of Tellabs, Laura went on to work at Austin Regional Clinic in Austin, TX as a financial administrator for the Mediview Department. After the closure of the Mediview Department in 2016, Laura decided to take an early retirement. As mentioned, while working at Tellabs, Laura met and fell in love with Anthony Newkirk. They were married on April 22, 2000. Laura accepted Christ at an early age and has attended and been a member of The First Baptist Church in Taylor, TX since she was a young child. Laura was very involved in her church as she served as the past President of the Ladies of Zion Mission Auxiliary and is currently the General Mission President. She also sang in the Women’s Chorus and was ready and willing to lend her support for whatever else the church needed her to do. Laura was such the beautiful diva and loved everything in fashion. If you really knew her, you would know that her favorite store was Macy’s, and she could be found there at the store often until Covid-19 made her go to curbside pickup and home deliveries! She left a beautiful scent of Chanel Coco Mademoiselle behind on everything she wore and came in contact with. Laura recently found a new passion in baking. She would have the whole house smelling good with all kind of baked goods that she had prepared. Her specialty was her cakes and she would always make her brother-in law his favorite strawberry cake. Presentation was everything to her and when she made her baked goods for the church bake sale, or for anyone else, her presentation was nothing short of beautiful. Laura enjoyed spending time with her family. Every minute and every holiday were spent with her family. Family was of the utmost importance to her. Laura was given the nickname “the boss”. Although she was not the oldest child, she thought she was always the boss of something. And often times, yes, she really was! Although she loved all of her siblings dearly, she had a sweet connection with her sisters and was especially close to her baby sister, Pam. The two were inseparable. When you saw Laura, you could best believe that you saw Pam. Preceding her in eternal rest is her father, Leroy Frederick, Sr. and her son Corey Jamal Frederick. Laura leaves to cherish her dear and precious memories: beloved husband of 21 years, Anthony Newkirk; mother, Darlene Clayton; mother-in-law, Lillie Lynch; brothers, Donald Ray Frederick, Sr. and Leroy Frederick, Jr. (Janice); sisters, Debora Kay Frederick and Pamela Jackson (Fidencio); Godson, Micheal Payne; nieces, Charlotte Frederick, Tara Watkins (Rodney), Chelsea Jackson and Brandie Jackson; nephews, Donnell Harrell, Cedrick Frederick, Donald Ray Frederick, Jr. and Anthony Frederick; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and many relatives and friends.
