Helen was born on September 1, 1951 to Adam and Angelita Reese in Taylor, Texas, where she is the oldest of 6 siblings. Helen welcomed Christ into her life at an early age and was an active member of The First Baptist Church in Taylor Texas. Here, she sang in the choir, participated in the ladies mission work and was president of deaconess. She always helped with Vacation Bible School, The Thanksgiving Community Dinners and many more activities within the church. After Helen graduated from High School, she went on to attend nursing school at Johns Community Hospital in Taylor, Texas. During nursing school, she met the love of her life, Willie B. Kinlow, who was a soldier in the U.S. Army. They were married in Cameron, Texas on April 18, 1974 and were married for 49 years. Together, they were blessed with two children; a daughter, Monica Dawn Kinlow and a son, Willie B. Kinlow, Jr. As a family, they traveled the world living in Tacoma, Washington; Columbia, South Carolina; Panama; Bremerhaven, Germany and Agusta, Georgia; before returning to Texas and making it their home. Throughout their travels and adventures, Helen was a loving and supportive military wife. She was also an amazing mother who was caring and loving. She took great pride in her family. Helen was also an awesome daughter and amazing big sister. Upon returning home to Taylor, she began working at City National Bank for 20 years. Here, she was loved and well known by friends, customers, and co-workers. She always had a kind and helpful word to all. Once she retired, she enjoyed spending time with the love of her life, “Honey” and more than anything, being a grandma to her grandkids who affectionately called her “Honey”’ and “Paw Paw”. Helen was an amazing cook and made the absolute best sweet potato pie and dressing. She also loved watching westerns and YouTube videos. Helen was a beautiful, strong, smart, kind, and loving woman. She brought a smile to all she met and was always willing ‘to tell it like it was’, BUT in a way that only a mother could. One thing she always said was ‘When in doubt, pray about it. Let go and give it to God’ and with those sincere words and encouragement, everything always seemed to work out. Helen Marie Kinlow is predeceased by her parents, Adam and Angelita Reese. Helen is survived by her husband: Willie B. Kinlow, Sr. of Hutto, Texas; her daughter: Monica Dawn Kinlow of College Station, Texas and her children: Reese McKenzie Wilson and Zachary Charles Wilson of Elgin,, Texas; her son: Willie B. Kinlow, Jr. of Taylor, Texas and his daughter: Faith LeeAnn Kinlow of Austin, Texas. Her siblings: Herbert Reese and wife Kim of Dallas, Texas; Opal Hightower and husband Glenn of Belton, Texas; Gwendolyn Reese of Taylor, Texas; Thomas Reese of Houston, Texas and Joyce Hall and husband Harry of Houston, Texas. Helen also leaves behind a host of relatives, nieces, nephews, and other friends with memories to be cherished.
