Gloria Faye Hubbard was born to the late Lillie B. Piper and Henry Nobles, Sr. on the November 9, 1951, in Austin, Texas. The baby of five and the only girl to brothers who loved and adored her. She was the bright addition they awaited. That bright light and beautiful smile would follow her where ever she would go. Always the optimist she would find the good in most situations. She attended the Austin Public Schools during her formative years and upon completion Austin Community College, majoring in Accounting. She worked in the field of accounting in the Real Estate Industry and later at the University of Texas Law Library where she retired after 20 years of service. Gloria accepted Christ in her life at an early age and joined the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Austin, Texas, Church of Christ in Austin, Texas and later joined Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in Cedar Creek, Texas where she served as an usher, under the leadership of Pastor Lee Carter. She met and married George Gildon, Sr. and to this union two children were born, George Gildon, Jr. and Georgia Montgomery both her pride and joy. Later the family grew adding her niece/daughter Toshua Woodson. Gloria spent her entire life as an Austinite and a vibrant part of the Nobles and Piper families forever the one you could count on. Being born into two large families was not an easy task but she mastered it with flying colors. God in his infinite wisdom chose to bring that bright light home from work to reward, Wednesday, February 22, 2017. Our family chain has lost yet another link which cannot be replaced, however we thank God that He loved us enough to bless us with Gloria in our family. Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, Lillie B. Nobles and Henry Nobles, Sr., brothers, Zel Henderson and Sylvester Nobles; and daughter, Georgia Montgomery. Those left to cherish her memory are her son, George (Wuddassie) Gildon, Jr.; daughter, Toshua (Lamont) Woodson; two brothers, Henry (Karen) Nobles, Jr. of St. Petersburg, Florida, Reverend Larry Nobles of Austin, Texas and a very special cousin/sister Barbara Carr of Austin, Texas; Eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
