Life Reflection Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies. A woman full of wisdom. Proverbs 31 Georgia Ann Harris Booker was born on May 10, 1939, in Plano, Texas, to the late Tatum Harris and Celestin Davis. She was the eldest of nine children. Georgia received her education at L.C. Anderson High School and later retired from the Texas State Teachers Association, after more than twenty years of dedicated service. The Duties of a Christian Soldier Georgia was truly on the battlefield for the Lord. As the First Lady of Bethany Christian Church for over twenty-five years, she served faithfully in many capacities. She sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, and worked diligently with the SJR Baptist District Association’s Junior City and City-Wide Parent Council. A woman of vision and compassion, Georgia founded the Food Bank at Bethany Christian Church to serve the community, and was an active member of Mission One and Mission Two. She also served as President of the Christian Women’s Ministry and was known for feeding the homeless and helping those in need. A Legacy of Love Georgia was preceded in death by her parents, Tatum Harris and Celestin Davis; her devoted husband, the late Pastor William W. Booker, Edward Works; daughter, Liznita Harris; son, Darrell Harris; grandson, Coby Harris; and brothers, Ray Harris, Cal Holloway, Jessie Davis, Larry Harris, and Jay Harris She leaves to cherish her precious memories: two sisters, Ester Eskridge and Mary Davis; her loving children, Roshell, Brian, Rhonda, Weldon, Rodney, and Cynthia; and a host of in-laws, including Christiana Works, Robert Powell, LaShonda Booker, Leslie Moss, Derrick Ross, Yvonne Works, Gary Hinnant, and Stephanie Works. Her legacy continues through her many grandchildren: Derrick, DeSeria (Tinkerbell), Felicia, Andrea, Amanda, Jennifer, Darrell G., Dante, Maliah, Jamario, Tatianna, Hezekiah, Reggie, Chris, Raynard, Kendall, Kayle, Jeremy, Nigel, Darrell Jr., Shirley, Shemeckia, David, Anthony, Shelia, Kenyatta, Kenesheon, Tammy (Kikki), Arnikia, Larry, and La’Reque, along with a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren who will carry her memory forward with love.
