He was the sixth child of Vernest Harrison and Mamie Clark. He was given the nickname Peter, which he outgrew and changed to “Pete.” He accepted Christ early in life, and attended Black’s Memorial Baptist Church, under Reverend A. M. Patton. He was baptized under the Montopolis Bridge in Austin, Texas. He education in AISD included (St. John Elementary, Pierce Junior High, and John H. Reagan High School). He entered the U.S. Army where he completed his education with a GED. Pete served his country for 2 years, and decided it was not life for him. He was permitted an early discharge under other than honorable conditions. His career driving semi-trucks was with Rapid Freight Line, Support Service Trucking Company, Heartland Express, and RSS. Pete drove trucks for over 45 years, and his CB handle was “Buffalo Soldier.” Pete was loving, respectful, loyal, funny, hardworking, a provider, and dedicated to his family and employment. Pete loved to fish, attend classic car shows, and drive to surrounding cities to try different soul food restaurants. Watching western movies, Sanford and Son, NCIS, Hawaii 5-0, working as auto mechanic. His favorite football teams were the Texas Longhorns (UT), and the Dallas Cowboys. Pete met his first love (Miss Sheila Bragg) in the 70’s, and had two sons, Ernest Bragg and Gabriel Clark. Many years later, in 2017 he met his current wife and now widower, Nicole Aiken. They purchased a home together and married December 31, 2020(New Years Eve). Pete was preceded in death by both parents, Vernest Harrison, and Mamie Clark, as well as three brothers Robert Clark Jr., Phillip Clark and Leslie “Billy” Clark, one sister Rosetta Carrington, and one nephew Charles Carrington. He leaves to cherish his wife, Nicole Aiken, and one daughter Kennedy Jackson of Bowie, MD; two sons Ernest Bragg (Nikita) of Del Valle, TX, and Gabriel Clark (Kelly) of Killeen, TX; three grandchildren, Gabriel Jr., Kelisha, and Samiyah; three brothers, Freddie Clark (Doris) of Del Valle, TX, Herbert Clark of Pflugerville, TX, Charles “Jake” Harrison of Austin, TX; three sisters, Alfreda Mercer of Pocono, PA, Ernestine Washington of Austin Colony, and Linda Hygh of Hutto, TX, one 94yr old aunt Irene Houston Davis. Deceased bonus mothers Katherine Harrison and Georgia Sue Thompson. Bonus siblings, Wayne Sneed (deceased), Donnie Miles, Willie Miles, Cynthia Palfrey, Vicki Myers, Debra Allen (deceased), and Mary Johns. Blood makes you related, but love makes you Family. Nineteen nieces, twenty-one nephews, thirty-two great nieces, seventeen great nephews, eight great-great nieces, four great-great nephews, and a host of cousins and many many friends.
