She passed away on December 6, 2024, in Round Rock, Texas. Earnestine’s (Mommy, Momma, MawMaw, Mommastine, Sister Carter or Mother Carter) life was that of a woman of great faith. Earnestine's nurturing spirit extended beyond her own family. She opened her heart and home to many as a foster parent, providing care, support, and guidance to children in need. Her ability to make others feel loved and cherished was a hallmark of her character, whether as a mother, grandmother, or friend. Her deep commitment to family and faith created a foundation that continues to influence the lives of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Earnestine found strength and solace in her church community. She was an integral part of True Vine Church of Manor for more than four decades, serving alongside her late husband, Reverend J.D. Carter. Her love for worship and the teachings of the Bible was evident in her dedication to the church and her eagerness to share this experience with her lineage. Later in life, she found a new church home, alongside her great-granddaughter, at Deliverance Kingdom in Austin, Texas, where she continued to grow in her faith under the leadership of Pastor Adrian Keith Brown. Earnestine was preceded by her husbands: Fred T. Cleveland and James Dean Carter; parents: LeRoy and Emma; siblings: LeRoy Jr, Amanda Ree, Fannie Lee, Willie B, Howard and Bobby Joe; great-grandchild: Jazmine Green Earnestine Loving is survived by her children: Brenda Cleveland Johnson, Fred T. Cleveland Jr, and Donna Cleveland Johnson; grandchildren: Nicole Green, Yolanda Sanders, Fred T. Cleveland III, Otis Mack, Brittany Cleveland, Christopher Davis Waters, Titus Mack, Robert Lee Porter, Dianne Griffin, Alfred Johnson III, Emily Johnson, Natori Blue, Breana Johnson, Jamaal Cleveland, Chance Cleveland; great-grandchildren (32); and great-great-grandchildren (5), all of whom carry her love and values forward. Her passing marks the end of an era, yet her spirit remains intricately woven into the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her great-granddaughter, Whitney Green-Spivey, has gracefully honored her wishes, carrying forward her legacy with love and reverence. Sibling: Mary Emma Harrison. And a host of family and friends. The family asks for prayers and support during this time of loss and invites those who knew Earnestine to join in celebrating her life and the many ways she enriched the world.
