Just as honey enriches and nourishes, so did the life of our beloved Dawn McQueen-Hargrove — leaving behind memories full of love, encouragement, and grace. The Bible says: “How sweet are thy words unto my taste! Yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth.” — Psalm 119:103 Like the honeybee, Dawn worked with quiet diligence and purpose, creating a legacy of warmth and care. Their words uplifted, their presence comforted, and their faith inspired. As the Promised Land was called a place “flowing with milk and honey” (Exodus 3:8), we take comfort in knowing that Dawn now rests in a place of eternal peace and divine sweetness — a land prepared by God, rich with promise and love. Though our hearts ache, we give thanks for the sweetness they brought into our lives — a lasting gift, like honey, that will remain with us always. With grace, power, and unwavering purpose, Dawn McQueen-Hargrove entered into eternal rest on April 28, 2025, in Houston, Texas. A devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, minister, and friend, Dawn lived boldly — a life deeply rooted in faith, prayer, and love. She was a woman of vision and voice, called to impact lives through beauty, encouragement, and an unshakable walk with God. Born on October 19, 1970, in Austin, Texas, to Vanessa Silas and Gary Don Robinson, Dawn accepted Christ at an early age and devoted her life to God with fierce commitment. Her relationship with Christ was not just visible — it was foundational. One of her favorite declarations was, “God is in control,” and she lived each day by that truth. Dawn was a gifted exhorter, a powerhouse of prayer, and a woman who could move a room with both word and worship. She was a soulful singer, a visionary creative, a celebrated cook, and a successful businesswoman. Whether behind the phone, in the kitchen, at the salon, or in the pulpit, she led with excellence, authenticity, and a heart overflowing with purpose. She was known for her resilience, her tenacity, and her unwavering commitment to community. Life’s challenges never kept her down for long — her spirit was unbreakable, her joy contagious, and her presence unforgettable. She poured into others selflessly, mentoring, encouraging, and loving without condition. Her light radiated wherever she went, leaving a lasting imprint on every heart she touched. Dawn was preceded in death by her beloved father, Gary Robinson; her cherished grandparents, Malcom Baker and Magnolia McCullough, and CJ and Virgie Lee Robinson; as well as her dear aunt and uncle, Maria and Pete Word — all of whom she loved deeply and carried in her heart. She leaves behind a legacy of love and faith, held dearly by her devoted husband, Michael Hargrove; her loving sons, Nicholas Hunt (De’Audra Ansley) and Dallas and Alicia Hunt; and her precious grandchildren, Magnolia “Noli” Hunt and Shilo “Baby Dawn” Hunt, who brought her endless joy. She is also survived by her adoring parents, Vanessa and James Silas; her brother, Xavier and Caty Silas and their sons, Ax and Gatsby Silas; her sister, Tasha Coleman, and her children, Kennedy, Seven, and Reign Coleman. Dawn was surrounded by love from her bonus siblings, her Godmothers Nyla, Cynthia and Nellie, Lifelong sisters, Cheryl Alexander and Tashon Johnson; a large and caring extended family, and a host of treasured friends — all of whom were touched by her radiant spirit, generous heart, and unwavering faith.
