Honoring a Beautiful Life Charlesetta Crayton Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life well lived, we celebrate the homegoing of Charlesetta Crayton, a woman whose love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to family will never be forgotten. Born on October 23, 1952, in Austin, TX, to the late Charles Allen White and Virda Lee Jones, Charlesetta’s journey was one marked by resilience, strength, and an endless capacity to care for others. At the tender age of two, she moved with her mother and sister to Odessa, TX, where she spent her early years before returning to Austin in her teenage years. In 1970, she graduated from Old Anderson High School and began her adult life, laying the foundation for the remarkable woman so many came to know and love. Life tested Charlesetta early when, in her twenties, she and her siblings suffered the heartbreaking loss of their mother. With incredible grace, she stepped into the role of caretaker, ensuring her younger siblings were nurtured, loved, and supported well into their adulthood. Never once did she complain—she embraced them with open arms, embodying the very essence of selflessness. Among her greatest blessings was the birth of her beloved son, Eugene Crayton, whom she cherished and worked tirelessly to provide for. She spent many years in the semiconductor industry, working diligently at companies like Motorola and Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) to build a stable future. However, her deep love for children led her to a new calling—driving school buses for Apple and Star Shuttle, where she found joy in the laughter and energy of the young lives she transported daily. Charlesetta was a woman of style and grace. She took pride in her appearance, always dressed to impress, adorned with her favorite jewelry, especially her rings, and always ensuring her French-tip nails were perfectly polished. Her love for dancing, laughter, and bringing joy to those around her was infectious. She carried herself with confidence and poise, yet her warmth and humor made everyone feel at home in her presence. On March 12, 2025, surrounded by her beloved son, granddaughter, daughter-in law, sisters, nieces, nephew, family, and friends, Charlesetta transitioned peacefully from this life in Austin, TX. Though her presence will be deeply missed, her spirit will live on in the countless lives she touched. She is survived by her loving son, Eugene Crayton, and daughter-in-law, Cashana Crayton (Austin); granddaughter, Tierra Crayton-Winn; great-grandkids, Ja'mya and T'oure Bowers (Austin); bonus grandkids, Tayanna Clark and Christjan Harden; bonus great-grandson, Zaydein Clark Washington (Austin); sister, Ruby Joyce Jones Durst (Austin); nieces, Shannon Jones (Houston) and Shameka Arnold (Taylor); nephew, George Arnold (Bastrop); brother, Ronnie Neal and sister-in-law, Heather Neal (Seattle, WA); sister, Mary Helen Neal; niece, Qutasha Reyes; and a host of loving family and friends. Charlesetta’s legacy is one of love, strength, and unwavering generosity. She taught us the true meaning of family, the joy in caring for others, and the importance of living life with laughter and style. Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing that she is at peace, reunited with her beloved parents and watching over us with the same love she gave so freely in life. Rest well, Charlesetta. Your love will forever be our guiding light. Ecclesiastes 3:4 “A time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance.”
