She was 53 years of age. Remanda, affectionately known as “Mandy”, was born on May 21, 1967, in Corpus Christi, Texas at spohn Hospital. She was the 6th child of the late Bishop Billy Sim Spivey, Sr. and Mother Vera Nell Spivey. Mandy attended public school at Rose Shaw Elementary in Corpus Christi. Upon relocating with her family to Austin, Texas, in 1974, she attended Winn Elementary, Blanton Middle School, Peace Middle School and Lyndon Baines Johnson High School. Mandy accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ and filled with the precious gift of the Holy Ghost at the community Church of our Lord Jesus Christ, pastored by her wonderful father. Mandy was employed with White Swan, Texas Workers’s Compensation, AllState (Deerbrook), Praxair and JI Companies. In 1993, the Lord blessed Mandy with a handsome baby boy whom she named Dominique Jamaal Spivey. In 1997, after the doctors advised her that she could not conceive, Mandy was blessed with her miracle baby girl; Desiree J. Nell Spivey-Lumpkins. Mandy’s kids were her pride and joy! In 2011, Mandy and her family relocated to Augusta, Georgia. She was employed with Teleperformance and Augusta Sportswear. She joined the Bibleway Church of Our Lord Jesus (COOLJC), under the leadership of Apostle Sylvester Norwood. While attending Bibleway, Mandy met someone who would change her life forever; her husband, Jihad Bess. They married on September 27, 2014. They would later attend the Cathedral of Praise COGIC under the leadership of Pastor Paul Coppett III. Mandy and her family moved back to Austin in 2018 after the tragic loss of her father. She was a faithful member of the Sanctuary of Deliverance COGIC, under the leadership of Pastor A. Keith Brown. Remanda is preceded in death by her loving father, Bishop Billy Spivey, Sr. brother, Eric Spivey and grandsons Caiden and Dylan Spivey. She leaves behind, her loving and devoted husband, Jihad Bess; son, Dominique Spivey; daughter, Desiree Spivey and adorable granddaughter, Summer Reign Spivey. Also cherishing her memories are her siblings; Mark Anthony Spivey, Sr., (Jullette), Lore Ann Spivey, Billy Spivey (Charla), Renea Spivey-Ray, Felissa Spivey-Martin. David Spivey, Billie Carlette Spivey, Michael Spivey (Tiffiany), Regina Spivey-Alao (Oluwasegun), Christopher Spivey (LaTausha) and Darrly Spivey (Brittany), along with 41 nieces and nephews, 36 great nieces and nephews and a host of relatives and special friends. Remanda was such a joy to be around and she was always the “life of the party.” She will be greatly missed.
