    MICHAEL RAY LANE

    March 13, 1960 - November 2, 2018

Michael was the second child born to the late Jodie Lane, Jr. and Betty Lane Medlock on March 13, 1960. He attended schools in the Austin Independent School District. Michael professed a hope in Christ at the Mount Calvary Baptist Church is Austin, Texas under the pastorship of the late Reverend S. L. Davis. Michael moved to Bakersfield, California in 2010 to be with his sister. He began going to God’s Church of Deliverance under the late Lawrence and 1st Lady Juanita Francisco. He won them over with his cooking. He had a passion for cooking; sweets were his specialty. He would always bake homemade cookies and pies to give out to people. Michael was preceded in death by mother and father, one brother and one nephew. He leaves to cherish his memories Rose Lane (sister), Eric Townsend (nephew), Shuronda Lane (niece), God-nephews Sir Zachary and Daeshawn Blaylock, God-niece Zara Stewart, three uncles: Rev. Maurice Walker Sr. (Flossie), George Jones (Trish), William Jones, four aunts: Susan Baker, Fannie Jones, Bernice Armstrong and Stella Mae Davis of Los Angeles, CA., his best friend Tabitha Blaylock and a host of family and friends. I would like to give special thanks to our cousins Vera (Myrna) Walker Winn and Addie Hardeman Sneed. Not only are you our cousins, but you built a friendship with Michael. You talked on the phone daily with each other.
