Mrs. Mary Frances Dallas Mary Frances Dallas was born March 20, 1930 to the late Fred Clayborne and the late Elizabeth White Brooks. She attended Blackshear Elementary, Rosewood Elementary, Kealing Jr. High School, and the Old Anderson High School. She also attended two years at Austin Community College. She was employed for the Attorney John Stayton, Jr. Family for many years and retired in 1991 from Texas Instruments as an Electronic Assembler Operator. She joined Ebenezer Baptist Church and was baptized when she was six years old by Rev. J. C. Lott. She was a youth usher, in the Star Light Band, attended Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. In 1944, she joined David Chapel Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. E. G. Gibbs. During her youth, she was a Junior Usher, served in Junior Mission and Chairman of the Junior Choir under the leadership of Rev. J. L. Dawson. She was Vice President of the Ushers, Mission I (Martha Circle), and attended Tuesday Morning Bible Study and a member of Platinum Plus under the leadership of Rev. James E. Obey and Rev. Joseph C. Parker. Mary Frances was a member of the now disbanded Delta Friends Club and the Chestnut Neighborhood Association. She married Elmo Houston November 2, 1946. To this union, one child was born, Nancy Carlette Houston Thompson. On November 19, 1958, she married Milton “Skeet” Dallas. To this union, one child was born, Gena Lynette Dallas, who died shortly after birth. Mary Frances was preceded in death by her Father, Fred Clayborne; Mother, Elizabeth Brooks; husband, Milton “Skeet” Dallas; daughter, Lynette Dallas and her sister, Doris L. Mack. She leaves to cherish her loving memories, her daughter, Nancy Thompson (Donald); grandson, Roderick Thompson (Leslie); granddaughter, Tashia Coleman (Michael); great-grandchildren, Steven Coleman, Taylor Thompson, Ross Thompson, Melvin Coleman and Brooke Thompson. Her special cousins- Bobie Ball and Leroy White. Special friends: Thurston Slade, Willie Childs, Mary Washington, Delores Duffie, Doris Calloway and Sue Simmuel. Her Godchild - Keiron Calloway. Her adopted daughters are Peggie Coursey, Artie Newby, Linda Hay and Greta Canfield.
