    Mary Janice Barnett

    September 29, 1942 - May 24, 2019

Mary J. Hart Barnett was born September 29, 1942 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Alvin Hart and Gladys Washington Hart. Our mother grew up in Terrell, Texas with her parents and siblings. She received her education from Terrell Independent School District. Later, she met the love of her life and relocated to Bastrop, Texas before making her final home in Austin; the city she loved so much. She never met a stranger, and was one of the best nail technicians in Austin. She lived her life to the fullest and loved looking beautiful in her high heel shoes, dancing, and playing bingo. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her life. Mom professed her love for Christ at an early age, and always prayed for her children and grands. She departed this life peacefully on Friday, May 24, 2019 at Trinity Care Nursing Home. Our mother was preceded in death by her parents; beloved son Stevie; brothers, Sherman, James; sisters, Charlotte, Linda, and her dear Aunt Frankie Lee. To cherish her memories, she leaves behind a son, Ricky Hart; daughters, Marilyn Hart, Hope Barnett (Fiancé Bobbie), Wendy Gonzales (Patrick); grandchildren, Patrick (Tamesha), Robert Jr., Britny, Jasmond, Peyton (Fiancé Bruce), JaCory, and Bria; great-grandchildren, O’Neal, Jayden, Christian, Kingston and Karter; brothers, Monroe, Clifford, Joe, Roy, Charles; sister, Helen Denson (Lloyd); a host of nephews, nieces, and many loving relatives and friends. A special brother and sister-in-law, S.L. and Lillie Dale Barnett. Three special ladies that she considered her sisters: Ruby Jewel, Etta, and Alice.
