    Lugean Maxwell Brown

    September 25, 1927 - January 17, 2020

Lugean Brown, age 92, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2020. She was born on September 25, 1927, in Rocky Hollow, Texas, to Will and Vera Maxwell. She attended school in Rocky Hollow, Texas. December 7, 1944, she married the love of her life, John Willis Brown, Sr. To this union seven children were born, four sons and three daughters, of which two preceded her in death. Lugean accepted Christ at an early age at the Rocky Hollow church. Her family later moved to Georgetown, Texas where they united with the Friendly Will Baptist Church. Lugean loved the Lord and raised her family on leaning and depending on the Lord. She truly loved her family, and had a special relationship with each of her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She had a signature saying of “I Love You More”. She enjoyed preparing delicious meals (feasts) for her family and the fellowship that came along with enjoying those meals. Lugean was very proud of her family’s accomplishments and was proud to share them with all she met. She shared her wisdom and knowledge with her family and friends. Lugean had a voice of an angel and was regularly called on to perform a solo. Lugean was one of the founding members of the Maxwell Family Reunion. She looked forward to the meetings throughout the year leading up to each reunion and most of all to the fellowship with family. She worked tirelessly to keep the Maxwell legacy alive until her health failed. Lugean was preceded in death by her parents, sisters and husband. She leaves to cherish her memories her children John W. Brown, Jr. (Ann, deceased); Jean Arnold (Gregory); Ann Franklin (Kearie); Frank Brown (Vicky); and Edwin Brown (Katrina), nieces and nephews that were like her very own, a host grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
