Judson was the 3rd and last addition to the family and his sisters Judsonia and Janice were excited to welcome him into the family. Judson grew up in Round Rock, Texas, as a follower of Christ at Central Presbyterian Church (CPC). As a child, he participated in youth programs, Sunday school and other activities, including running up and down the stairs as most CPC children do. As an adult, Judson and his family attended CPC over the years and also had their daughter Maleeya christened at CPC. Judson completed his primary education in Round Rock and graduated from Round Rock High School. He attended Texas State University where he received a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science. In his pursuit towards obtaining a teaching position, Judson worked at Austin State Hospital, and Texas School for the Blind before working at Cedar Creek High School where he worked as a teacher and coach. Here is how Judson described his passion for working as an educator: “Educating the young minds is a task that requires conscious effort, and also requires persistence day in and day out. Being an educator can be extremely challenging, frustrating, and stressful. This is due mainly to the constant deadlines needing to be met and the high level of responsibility placed on an educator. However, teaching is also full of rewards ex: Seeing a student’s personal growth and being able to witness learning taking place in the classroom, being a role model to the future leaders of society by positively influencing their perceptions of society, serving as a diplomatic figure within the community by establishing partnerships, and advocating for a better education for all. As an educator, I am responsible for introducing knowledge in ways that students can comprehend it. I must also help them develop the skills necessary to master the content with a high level of empowerment. As an educator it is my duty to be conscious of learning, motivation, behavior, and development theories in order to push students towards reaching their full potential.” This is how he showed up and poured his heart into the work that he did with the students, faculty and staff at Cedar Creek High School. His love of others, serving and helping people will be missed dearly. When Judson was not working, he was caring for his family. Judson leaves behind his wife of 13 years, Karrie Young, their beautiful children Maleeya Greene (13) and Judson Nehemiah Greene IV (5), his parents, Judson Henry Greene, Jr, and Emmiline Greene, his sister Judsonia Sanford and her husband Collin, nephews Collin Jr. and Cameron, his sister Janice Matthews and her husband Israel, nephew Jeremiah, brother-in-law Kody Young and his Cindy, nephew Jace, nieces Gabrielle, Amaya, Khloe and sister-in-law Sierra Young. Judson also leaves to mourn a number of adopted brothers and sisters: Emeka Madu, Mike and Cindy Hart, Irving and Febronia Baysah, Leo Irish, and a number of cousins, Aunts and Uncles on both sides of the family that were dear to him. Judson loved music-whether it was listening to music or playing in the band, Nether Hour, music was a big part of his life. In honor of Judson’s life and legacy, we ask that as you listen to your favorite music, think of him, remember how he impacted your life and pay it forward. Help us celebrate and honor his life and legacy. Judson, we will miss you dearly, but you will forever be in our hearts!
