Jonathan Anthony Mouton aka “Big Johnny Mouton” Big Johnny, Hollywood and Horse, was he firstborn child to the union of Rose Mary Joseph and Jonas James Mouton on Nov. 6, 1955 in Kaplan (Vermilion Parish) LA. He was a graduate of Kaplan High School. Jonathan’s Christian was of the Roman Catholic faith where he and his family would attend mass together. He enlisted in the military where he served in the branch of the United States Air Force where he was stationed at Bergstrom AFB, Austin, TX. While in the service he was recognized countless times, amongst those awards were the following: AF Longevity Service Award, AF National Defense Service Metal, AF Outstanding Unit Award and an AF Good Conduct Metal. Upon completion of Basic Training, he was assigned to Operations as a Personnel Specialist. He later cross trained to the 67th Combat Support Group. (TAC) in the office of Manning Control as an Administrative Specialist. He completed Phase 1 & 2 Supervisory Course Training while stationed there as well. He endeavored to further his education by attending St. Edwards University in Austin, TX, after he received his Honorable Discharge. December 1990, Jonathan accepted a position with the City of Kaplan as a Purchasing Agent Supervisor Coordinator, which he held for 16 years. After which, he accepted a position as a Gas and Water Technician where he remained until he retired in May of 2019. Jonathan lived his life to the fullest! He loved his family and friends in his own special way. He was an avid football enthusiast, often gathering his friends and family to take part in football pools. As a Dallas Cowboy fan Big Johnny could be found every Sunday afternoon cheering his team on. To know him was to love him. His smile, his laugh, his joke talking and his deep heavy voice. On April 28, 2020 at 8:15am Jonathan transitioned into eternal life. He was proceeded in death by his Parents, two children Sasha Khan Mouton and De’Kovan Jiles, his brother Joseph Glen Mouton, brother in-law John Allen Williams, his maternal grandparents Lauris Clement and Albert O. Joseph, paternal grandparents Beulah Cobb and Junius J. Mouton and nephew Ajay Stewart (Joseph Glen Mouton II). Jonathan leaves to cherish his memories of a life well lived: his wife – Duran R. Mouton (Houston, Tx), sons: Jonathan Anthony Mouton-Slocum (Meridian, ID), Jon-Robert Mouton (Los Angeles, CA), Jonas Mouton (Los Angeles, CA) daughters: Latoya Shavon Mouton-Slocum (Portland, Or), Watonya Rose Mouton-Slocum (Monroe, LA), Chandra Marie Mouton (San Antonio, Tx) sisters: Terry M. Williams (Kaplan, LA_ and Tiffany Rudd-Black (Tallahassee, FL), three nieces: Jade Williams-McGowan (Humble, TX), Mercedes Mouton-Steward and Anisha Mouton-Steward (Los Angeles, CA) two nephews: Adrian Blake William (Kaplan, LA), London M. Mouton (Los Angeles, CA), Goddaughter, Lanell Romero-Parr (Cypress, T), eighteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren and a host of other loving relatives and close friends.
