Johnny Williams was born May 25, 1942 in Austin, Texas to Handy and Massie Williams. He received his education in the Austin Independent School District. Johnny accepted Christ at an early age at St. Edwards Baptist Church and was baptized in the Colorado River. He worked for the City of Austin Water and Wastewater Department for 29 1/2 years where he was blessed to retire in 1994. Johnny was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was humble, understanding, trustworthy, compassionate, HE was a committed community helper that the neighborhood could depend on. He always had a smile on his face. He enjoyed fishing, reading the newspaper, pitching washers, playing cards, working outdoors, helping his neighbors, watching western and spending time with family. Johnny was preceded in death by his parents Handy and Massie; brothers Albert Mickey, Milton, and Cleo; sisters Daisy Jackson and Sarah Dunan. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 51 years, Mary Williams; four children: Frank, Sharon (Anthony), Johnny (Tiffany) and Ronnie (Arnetris), eleven grandchildren: Corey, Frank, Jr. (Danyel), Mercedes, Lamont, Mikinzi, Mariah, Joshua (Desirra), Bryson, Jadyn, Jackson, and Jaron; two sisters: Myrtle Lee Franklin and Ida Wilson and a host of great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
