    Jerome (Romey Rome) Gordon

    March 30, 1961 - January 28, 2018

    Jerome “Romey Rome” Gordon, Sr. was born on March 30, 1961 to Dorothy Lee Posey and Edward Gordon. He attended publice schools in Yazoo City, MS and graduated from Yazoo High School, after high, Jerome graduated from Coahoma Jr. College. He furthered his education at Mississippi Valley State University, Ittabena, MS. During his younger years until adulthood, Jerome was a faithful member of the Lintonia Chapel Seventh Day Adventist Church in Yazoo City, MS where he was baptized. He united with the Alpha Seventh Day Adventist Church on July 29, 2017, where he was a faithful member until his health failed. He was employed with various companies, i.e., Bally’s Aladdin Castle, The “W” Hotel, Verizon, and also was an entrepreneur of the Gordon Zone. On July 13, 1985, he married his College Sweetheart, Mae Katherine Johnson. They were united in holy matrimony for thirty two years. To this union two children were born, Jerome II and Jemeka. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Gordon, his brothers, Edward Jr. and Calvin and one sister, Brenda. Jerome leaves to cherish his memories—His loving and devoted wife, Mae Gordon; son, Jerome II; daughter, Jemeka Gordon; mother, Dorothy Lee Posey; grandchildren, Jemaya and Jerome Gordon III; brother, Dr. Willie (Ruby) Posey of Arkansas City, KS, Andrew (Dawn) Posey of Petersburg, VA; sisters, Doris (Jerry) Gaston of Greenwoos, MS, Patricia (Roosevelt) Hayes, Yazoo City, MS, Julia Gordon, Madeline Dams, Mayetta Stroughter, Gloria Herman, Connie Gordon and Merrylene Gordon all of New Orleans, LA; brothers-in-law, Larry Johnson, Willie (Essie) Johnson, Jr., Jimmy Johnson; sisters-in-law, Catherine Johnson and Linda Johnson; surrogate parents, Al and Liz Campbell, and Bobbie Perry; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
