Janae Chantal Miles

As a child, she and her family moved to Pflugerville, Texas. At the age of 27, Janae proudly purchased her first home and moved to Round Rock, Texas. Janae was very organized and was more than punctual. In fact, the day that she was born Vedia got to the hospital at 8:30AM. In classic Janae fashion, she was born a mere two hours later at 10:02AM and her father immediately called her Tootie. Since that day, Janae was simply known as “Tootie,” to her family and friends. Janae attended church with her family at David Chapel and accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age. She was very active in her church. She enjoyed singing in the choir, as well as the dance team. She participated in Jesus and Me Saturdays (JAMS), Disciple Now, Vacation Bible School, and Bible Study in addition to many other activities. She also was involved in many community organizations. She was a member of the Girls Scouts and a Little League cheerleader along with her sister and their Mother coached. Additionally, she participated in Habitat for Humanity. Janae's talents enabled her to be a mentor and role model for younger people around her. Janae attended Pflugerville Independent School District. She was a member of the Student Council, Honors Society as well as many clubs and organizations. Janae received a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from University of North Texas in Denton. Again, in true Janae fashion, she completed her education ahead of time, in fact in three years instead of four. She attended graduate school at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, TX. After graduating as Valedictorian from the Travis County Corrections Officer Basic Recruit Academy Class #82, Janae was employed as a Correctional Officer for 5 years. As a model employee, everyone knew, and was well aware of how much Janae loved and was dedicated to her career. Janae departed this life on June 12, 2022. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Dena Easley Lofton and her paternal grandparents Georgia Sue Thompson and Willie Miles, Sr. and her favorite Aunt… Ruth Ann Easley. She leaves to cherish her memory: Her parents; father, Willie Miles of Austin, Texas mother Vedia Miles, of Hutto, Texas. Two sisters: Jasmine Miles, of Austin, Texas and Dena Miles of Hutto, Texas. Her grandfather, Dave Lofton (Debra) of Austin, TX. Her uncles, DeWayne of Austin, TX, Darrell of Austin, TX and Daniel (Erica) of Kyle, TX; Donnie Miles Sr. (Diane) of Miami, FL. Her aunts, Vicki Myers of Augusta, GA, Cynthia Palfrey, of Las Vegas, NV. Her close cousins Donnisha Lofton, Danielle Lofton, Denae Lofton, Dillan Lofton, a host of cousins, other beloved relatives and friends.
