She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized. Dorothy Anderson was an awesome babysitter. Your child was always in the best care and she took great pride in helping to raise her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was affectionally known as Mama, Granny, Big Sis, Big Auntie, Little Gladys and Dorothy Mae. Little Gladys stepped up to the plate she took the torch and cared on her like her mother always make you feel welcome and part of family from her heart and home. Dorothy Anderson was loyal and faithful member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church of Thrall, Texas for over fifty years. Over the years at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church she served as a Mission I and II President and was President of the Usher Board. She also enjoyed attending Sunday School and studied her lesson on Saturday nights and be ready to go. She was a very dedicated member and loved her church and her pastor. Her favorite sayings are “God got me” and “Pray about it.” She always keep God first in her life and trusted God totally. Her faith was so strong and she always prayed about it. Dorothy Anderson was not only well respected by her family and church members but by her community in Thrall, Texas. Her smile, kind words and laughter will be truly missed. Dorothy Anderson entered eternal rest on February 16th, 2021. She was preceded in death by her father Robert Houston Jr., Mother Gladys Houston, husband James Anderson, sister Mae Pearl Cage, brother Roy Gene Roberson and two sons Willie Lee Coulter Jr., and Randy Wayne Coulter. Cherishing her memories are: Children Shirley Coulter of Rockdale, Texas, Terence Coulter of Thrall, Texas, Patricia Hill (Kenneth) of Thrall, Texas, Wendy Banks (Earnest) of Thrall, Texas, Tracy Irvin (Anthony) of Thrall, Texas. She also leaves her sister Doris Quintero (Carlos) of Thrall, Texas; sister Bobbie Hope (Willie) of Georgetown, Texas; Brother Willie James Roberson of Taylor, Texas; Brother Willie Ray Roberson of Thrall, Texas; Brother Sherman Houston of Thrall, Texas; and Sister Gloria Roberson of Thrall, Texas. She also leaves her four granddaughters Ashley Coulter, Felicia Banks, Tempest Coulter, and Nevaeh Irvin. Seven grandsons Derrick Coulter, Justin Coulter, Markell Irvin, Tyreke Irvin, Jeremy Henley, James Henley, and Edward Chandler. Six great grandsons Landon Coulter, Kadrin Deary, Khylan Coulter, Jayden Henley, Mason Chandler, and Kayden Chandler. Two great granddaughters Kambrie Coulter and Kennedi Coulter and a host of other relatives and loving friends.
