DONALD RAY MOORE SR

January 3, 1953 - May 11, 2018

On January 3, 1953, Walter Lee Moore, Sr., and Ora Lee Moore, were blessed with their second bouncing baby boy, who they named Donald Ray Moore. Growing up with a strong Christian foundation and godly parents, Donald Ray accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Saint Paul Primitive Baptist Church in Austin, Texas. He attended public school in the Austin Independent School District. Donald Ray worked 15 years with the City of Austin in the Water and Wastewater Management Division. Later in life, Donald Ray returned to the church, working, and serving the Lord. He found his place in church as an Usher, serving until his health began to decline. Donald Ray loved playing softball, dominos, and above all was very compassionate when spending time with family and friends. He had a personality that was kind and loving along with a positive attitude. On Friday morning, May 11, 2018, Donald Ray heard the voice of Jesus and left his earthly tabernacle. Free from all the pain and suffering. Donald Ray went home to be with his parents, (father) Reverend Walter L. Moore Sr., (mother) Ora L. Moore, and two brothers: Walter L. Moore, Jr., and Curtis Joseph Moore. Donald Ray led a rewarding active life and the legacy he established is priceless. This occasion caused many hearts to ache and eyes to water. Our Daddy, Donald Ray, Sr., leaves in God’s hands to cherish his legacy, his children: Felicia Denise and her husband, Frederick Causey, Donna Rochelle and her husband, Charles Grant, and Donald Ray Moore, Jr. and his wife, Josie; their mother, Brenda Moore Carrington; Michael Lorenzo Bunton and his wife, Jeannette, Donald Ray Bunton and wife, Kelly; Stephanie Monique Miller, Derrick Alonzo Bunton, and Curtis Joseph Bunton, and his wife, Ashley; their mother, Patricia Gail Bunton Clark; his grandchildren and great grandchildren; one brother, David Alonzo Moore and his wife, Cherry; his aunts, Lucile M. Vaughan, and Mary L. and her husband, Lemuel Carroll; a brother from another mother, Daniel ‘Mark’ Sheehan; nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends, including his church family
