Debra Ann Marvels was born April 24, 1960 in Corpus Christ, Texas to Lee and Wilma Marvels. Debra obtained her formal education in the Austin Independent School District. She graduated from Lyndon Baines Johnson High School on May 31, 1978. She participated in the band. Debra professed a hope in Christ at an early age at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church under the late Pastor O. T. Arnold. She remained a faithful member under Pastor Roy F. Jones until she was called home to her heavenly father. Debra was a dedicated worker in her church where she served on the usher board, church clerk, choir member, junior mission, deaconess, minister wives and a Sunday school teacher. Debra also held office with the local and state Texas Church Ushers Organization. Debra worked faithfully for the Austin Regional Clinic for 22 years in many positions. Debra was joined in holy matrimony with Christopher Dean on January 29, 2006. Debra enjoyed traveling, painting with a twist, watching her favorite TV Shows and being around her family. Debra loved to bake and especially baking her “Daddy” meatloaf. Debra was called home to be with her heavenly father on August 17, 2018 at 10:52 pm. She was preceded in death by her son, Richard Wayne Johnson. Debra leaves to cherish her memories, a loving husband, Christopher Dean; loving father and mother, Lee and Wilma Marvels; loving brother, Christopher Marvels; loving sister, Cheryl Marvels Wilkinson, loving children, Antoinette Marvels, Kinsi Dean, Kourtni Dean, Christopher Dean Jr., Caleb Dean and Emmailey Sterling; special friends, Linda Berry and Virginia Ross, five grandchildren, and a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, cousins and friends.
