Charleson Dancy was born October 26, 2004 to Elliott Burrell and Ledette Dancy in Austin, Texas. He attended the Pflugerville Public School System. He started in the Dual Language Program when it was in its second year at Fannie Mae Caldwell Elementary School. Currently, he was in the 8th grade at Kelly Lane Middle School. In 2010, he professed his faith, was baptized, and became a member of the Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church. With his mother by his side, he usually attended the eight o’clock service. He was a member of the Seeds of Promise Choir. Also, served faithfully as an honorary member of Mission 3. Academically, he was a gifted student. He was always on the honor roll. His favorite subjects were Math and Science. For the 2017-2018 school year, he received the Sword in the Stone Award for outstanding achievement. He was loved by teachers and students alike. His extracurricular activities included Taekwondo, playing soccer, swimming and running track. He achieved the rank of Black belt in Taekwondo. His hobbies included crocheting, drawing and reading mythical novels. His favorite superhero was Spider Man. He fought a difficult battle with a rare brain tumor. He remained strong throughout the whole treatment process. His faith in God never wavered. Charleson passed away on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Dell Children’s Medical Center. He is survived by his mother, Ledette Dancy, his father, Elliott Burrell, his sisters, Kimberly Newman, Samantha Jenkins, Tiffany DeTiege, his brother, Elliott Burrell II, his grandmother, Leathia A. Dancy, uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and friends.
