AC Cleveland Jr. was born July 21, 1950 to AC and Addie Cleveland Sr. and departed this life on March 18, 2019. He attended Pflugerville Colored School in his elementary years and his High School years were spent at Sidney Lanier High School where he was only the 2nd black to attend and graduate. Because the schools were not yet fully integrated his parents had to pay for his education. After high school AC went to drafting school and later applied and was accepted to attend the University of Texas but was Drafted into the Army and was unable to attend. Before leaving for the Military AC became a member of Present Grove Lodge #5. AC was drafted Feb.24, 1970 and was Honorably discharged February 23, 1976 where he became a Paratrooper and Expert Marksman. Upon return from the Military AC met and Married Myrna Yvonne Prescott and to this union was born one child Jeffery O’Neal Cleveland. AC was hired before he left for the Army by Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. which caused he and Myrna to move to Aurora, Colorado in 1982, while there his son Jeffery was born. They lived in Arora for 18 years before moving back to Texas. Southwestern Bell merged and became AT&T where AC worked a total of 32 years before retiring. AC was a diligent worker and always had several jobs. He ran Cable for Time Warner, had his own business call JAM Services for 4 years doing interior and exterior remodel and handy man services. He got his CDL Class A Driver License and acquired a Dump Truck. Later he attended ITT Technical Institute where he graduated June 2013 and received his ASSOIATE OF APPLIED SCIENCE DEGREE in COMPUTER AND ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY. He then went to work as a Sales Associate for Dell Computers. His final days was spent with U Haul at Three Points in Pflugerville and T&B Auto Services where he spent his off days doing what he loved most, working on cars. AC accepted Christ at the age of 12 where he joined and was baptized at St. Paul Baptist Church under the Pastorage Reverend J.H. Penn. There he was a member and president of the Junior Choir. AC loved to sing and along with his cousins formed the group THE CLEVELAND SINGERS consisting of the sons of Rev. J.D. Cleveland, Joe, Willie, and Randolph. AC and his son enjoyed talking about the Goodness of the Lord and would share a word with each other. He was preceded in death by his Father Dec. AC Cleveland Sr. and Sister Jessie Marie Cleveland. AC is survived by his Son Jeffery Cleveland (Kalinda), one grandson Jeffery O’Neal Cleveland Jr. and one granddaughter Brianna Shamel Cleveland all of Austin; Mother Addie Cleveland, of Austin; sister Carolyn Powell (Leotis) of Hutto; Brother Ronnie Cleveland (Lydia) of Pflugerville; uncles Thomas Cleveland, of Austin, Monroe Mitchell (Helen) of Alabama, Ben Mitchell (Stella) of Dallas, Donald Mitchell, Hubbard; one Aunt Lucelestine Dotson, Austin; Special friend Juanita Marlett, Denton and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
