She was born May 4, 1942, in a small town of Castor, Louisiana. As a child, Merline grew up traveling to many small Texas towns with her parents and 9 siblings being that her father was a magician and had a traveling tent show. Attending 60 schools, she started in Louise, TX and graduated high school May 28th, 1960, in Sheridan, TX. It was 1963 when she met the love of her life, a soldier in the United States Army, James Thomas Williams. February 23, 1965, they exchanged vows in Georgetown, TX. They began their family in Austin and later moved to Walburg. Merline is preceded in death by her parents James Alvah and Hester Lenora Morrison, her siblings, James Morrison, Earl Morrison, Florine Stroud, Lucille Farris, Helen Fickey, Avalene Foster, Delma Morrison, Ray Morrison and her loving husband of 39 years, James Thomas Williams. She is survived by her sister Francis Morrison of Louisiana, her three children, Thomas Williams of Walburg, James Williams (Nicole Abrego) of Walburg and Suzanna and Chris Richards of Bandera. Three grandchildren, Rebecca Williams (Russell Knouss), Travis Williams and Jadon Williams. Great grandchildren Russell, Korben, Wyatt and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. The number three was a perfect number for her. Merline had three children, three grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and three sweet dogs with Eli having a special place in her heart. Merline was a “mom” to many nieces and nephews and others. Merline never met a stranger, loved people, and family gatherings. She was an avid collector of buttons, stamps, cookbooks, and recipes. She loved cooking, baking, canning and gardening. Merline loved to reminisce about the good ole days and playing cards, and feeding everyone that walked into her home. At Christmas time, she was best known for her fudge which she called “candy”. She was the love of our lives and our best friend who always made us feel better and uplifted everyone she knew. Merline was the best storyteller we have ever known filling stories in with every detail and told jokes after jokes. She was a Christian who loved the Lord and it always shined through always loving, always loved. She was the glue that held everyone together. Momma, we love you very much and we know that you are dancing in Heaven with Jesus and Dad. Until we meet again in Heaven, we love you Momma!
