Sharon Ann Cathey (Johnson), beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2024, at the age of 90. Sarah was born on June 20, 1933, to the late Fritz Johnson Sr and Lucille Harrison Johnson in Williamson County, Texas. She spent her early years in the rural areas of Coupland, Georgetown, and other small towns in Central Texas, where her family worked as sharecroppers. Despite only completing school through the eighth grade, Sarah embarked on a career driven by her passion for caring for others. She began her journey in the hospitality and service industry, eventually transitioning her nurturing spirit into a successful career as a home daycare provider. After retiring from childcare, Sarah continued her compassionate service by becoming a Certified Nurses Aide, dedicated to caring for the geriatric population. On August 27, 1954, Sarah joined in Holy Matrimony with the late Rozel Cathey Sr "Duggey" on June 1, 1963. Together, they built a loving home in Taylor, Texas, where they raised their six sons: Rozel "Bubba/Baity" (Brenda), Albert Ray "PeeWee" (Thelma), Johnny Roy "Rickey" (Doris), Johnny Ray Mickey"; Michael, and Elvis Lee. Sarah leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion in the hearts of her seven grandchildren: Quincy Griffin (Shanae), Marcia Tealer, Kathryn Brockington (Jerry), Monique Owen, Sharkira Deary, Kamesha Randle, and Johnny Cathey Jr. (Shelby). She also leaves behind a host of great-grandchildren: Deovionne, Keyanna, Kenedi, Kensley, Jamia, Jaquan, Jordan, Laron, Alejandro, Danica, and more to cherish her memory. Additionally, Sarah is survived by her great-great-grandchild, Jy'Aire, and her brothers Rubin Johnson (Tommie C) and Fritz Johnson Jr "Chris". In addition to her parents, Sarah was preceded in death by her loving husband, several siblings, and her sons Elvis, Rozel, and Mickey Cathey. Sarah found joy in gardening, cooking, and doting on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her generosity knew no bounds, as she delighted in feeding others and providing comfort through countless meals shared with family, friends, and those in need. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Rest in peace, dear Sarah; your legacy of love and compassion will never be forgotten.
