Tributes

Nettie Mae Kimble was born September 13, 1929, went home to be with the Lord, March 12, 2024. Nettie was born to the late Robert and Juanita Jones Sr. In Beaumont, Texas. Nettie attended and graduated from Charlton Pollard High School, Beaumont, Texas. She married Oliver James Sr., and to this union two sons were born. Nettie moved to Austin with her husband Foster Kimble Jr., who preceded her in death. Her three brothers preceded her in death; Robert R. Jones Jr. (Ernestine), Marvin N. Jones (Paulette) and John A. Jones. She was also preceded in death by her sons Oliver V. James II (Shirley), Jerry L. James Sr. (Wandra), Rickie G. James (June), infant son Billy Joe Kimble. Granddaughter Serena R. James and grandson Frankie. She moved to Bastrop, Texas to be near her daughter and grandchildren. She attended Macedonia Baptist Church, finish her time at Dorcus Chapel Primitive Baptist Church under the leadership of Elder Dr. Elvis Williams. She leaves to cherish her memory four loving children, Dover Kimble Sr. (Paula), Juanita Kimble-Akray (Yuksel), Robert R. Kimble Sr., Steve A. Kimble Sr. Grandchildren, Renee Calvert-James, Oliver James III, (Juanita) Tara L. James, Jerry James Jr., Chrismar James, April James, Gerald James, Rickie G. James, Jr. (Ronnicelyn), Electra James (David), Natalie D. Taylor (Ronald), Paul Harvey, Dover L. Kimble Jr. (Joyce), Tashi M. Kimble, DaRoy Hill-Kimble, Ronald E. Collins II (Marisa), LeKesia L. Collins, James-Anthony L. Collins, Robert A. Kimble, Jr. (Regina), Mercedes Kimble, Cecelia White-Kimble, Steve Kimble Jr., Aschley Grim (Will), Jeremy Kimble, DeVonte Kimble (Ayanna), Ravon Kimble, DyLesia L. Eaton-Kimble, nephews/nieces; Todd Jones, Deidra Jones-Shook, Marvin Jones Jr., Danielle White-Jones, and John Jones Jr. and a host of cousins, friends and loved ones. My mom was a community advocate, she along Velma Overton, Mrs. Paul Darby, Mrs. Arnold and others got sidewalks, swimming pool, and community center for Montopolis, she campaigned for Wilhemina Delco, Gus Garcia and Dolph Briscoe. She was a truancy officer for Johnston H.S. She and my grandmother loved flowers. She had a very green thumb. Nettie and husband Foster Kimble had a trucking business. They conferred together at the kitchen table; the business was successful for many years. They raised each other’s children, along with the children they had together. They always said they had 12 children.
