She accepted Christ at an early age and joined the Emmanuel Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. L.C. Davis. In 1982 she moved her membership to Willie Chapel Primitive Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. J.D. Winn Sr. where she sang in the choir. Johnnie attended public schools in Austin, Texas and graduated from John H. Reagan High School. She worked at Stephen F. Austin Hotel as a cook under the supervision of her stepfather who was a Chef; she also worked at Abbott Laboratories for many years, Capital Metro for 32 years driving city buses and Allied Security at XL Communications until her health started failing her. Marie loved to sing and her favorite song to sing was “He Looked Beyond My Faults’ (Amazing Grace)”. Her solution to solving any illness or problem was to eat a bowl of Blue Bell homemade vanilla ice cream and her favorite motto “it has to be Blue Bell, nothing else will make you feel better but Blue Bell.” She was preceded by her mother Kellie Jo Burns, stepfather Rev. James Edward Burns; grandparents L.C. Favors and Johnnie Mae Favors; great grandparents Bud Wiley Wiser Sr., Clarneta White, and George White. One brother Anthony Eugene Mosley Sr.; two sisters Jennifer Denise Burns and Kellie Roshea Burns; three nephews Larry Donnell Henderson, Xavier Wayne Harper, Lyle-Avery Ellison; two aunts Rose Marie Mills and Loma Jenkins; four uncles Roger Lewis Favors, Chester Favors, Ernest L. Favors, Wayne Favors; one sister-in-law Willie Mae Mosely; one brother-in-law Donnell Betram Earthman. She leaves to cherish her memories three sisters Clarneta Burns-Earthman “Princess” of Austin, TX; Sandra Kay Chase of Round Rock, TX; Stephanie Elaine Burns of Pflugerville, TX; Two brothers Clarence Edwards Burns of Austin, TX, Stephen Lane Burns of Dime Box, TX; two sisters-in-law Patsy Burns of Austin, TX and Elizabeth Burns of Dime Box, TX; two brothers-in-law Tyjuan Thomas, Patrick Lewis; three aunts Marsha Yvette Favors of Austin, TX, Faith Favors of Kansas City, MO, Laura Favors of Round Rock, TX; two uncles Robert Earl Favors Sr., of Kansas City, MO and Addison Jerome Favors Sr. of Round Rock, TX. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
