https://vimeo.com/1145741229 James Lewis Johnson Jr., a resident of Austin, Texas, completed his journey in the morning hours of December 2, 2025. He departed this life peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family and friends. His absence leaves a profound void in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him. James, affectionately known as Mr. Wrestla, was born on August 8, 1970, the first of four children to James Lewis Johnson Sr. and Dorothy Nell Johnson. He professed his faith in Christ at a young age at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church in Austin, Texas, and most recently worshipped at Diakonos Ministries in Austin, Texas. Mr. Wrestla attended John H. Reagan High School, where he starred in football and track and field. James dedicated over two decades of his career to GTech Corporation, where he made a significant difference in the lives of those around him. Known for his laid-back demeanor and frankness, James often expressed himself humorlessly but with care. Mr. Wrestla's life demonstrated the power of love and the lasting effect of one individual. His legacy remains with all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his cherished mother, Dorothy Nell Johnson; his son, Javon Johnson; and his grandparents, Dorothy and Clarence Brown, and Bertha Carter, and Arthur Johnson. James is lovingly remembered by his cherished children—Aaliyah Johnson, Braylon Johnson, Deonte Johnson, Xavier Johnson and Lollie Romelien; his adored grandsons—Dajuan Ross Jr. and Giannis A. Crawford; precious granddaughters—Messi A. Crawford and Ayah A. Crawford; his father, James Lewis Johnson Sr.; six beloved siblings—Adrian Johnson, Trikina Walker, Jeremy Johnson, Jason Johnson, Jerrell Johnson, and Terrell Johnson—and twenty-six treasured nieces and nephews. He is also fondly celebrated by many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins who enriched his life and shared in his journey. His legacy of unconditional love and gentle kindness continues to touch the hearts of each family member and inspires all who knew him. In this time of sorrow, let us come together to celebrate the beautiful life of James Johnson Jr. and find solace in the memories that will endure for generations to come. May he rest in eternal peace.
