Livestream Link: https://vimeo.com/event/5614942 Erik was born on August 26, 1984, to Edward and Cathy Beans in Los Angeles, California. Erik had a passion for life; he was ready to get started. He tried for two days before his actual birth. His passion for life grew along with his carefree and fun-loving spirit. The family moved to Leander, Texas in the summer of 1992, where Erik met several of his lifelong friends. Erik played basketball, football and baseball growing up. His passion was basketball. He attended Liberty High School, where he was a winning participant on the speech and debate team, and part of the Acting group, he even played Tiny Tim in the school play of Scrooge. Erik delighted the school when he made the morning announcements, adding a bit of comic relief. Erik fully accepted Christ, and was baptized on October 21, 2001, at Nevertheless Baptist Church in Austin, Texas, under the guidance of Reverend Clark Jackson. Erik participated in all aspects of the youth ministry and loved the Lord. As he matured, he was inclined to share Christ through his actions and support of others. After high school, Erik had his eyes on one school, Southwest Texas University now Texas State University, where he received his BBA. He fully enjoyed his university life, broadening his circle of brothers and lifelong friends. Erik also took on a leadership role, as President of the service organization Black Men United. Erik was active in several organizations, including being a teen counselor. Erik continued his acting and was in several ads, and activity during and after college. Erik’s guiding professional quote: “Man's greatness consists in his ability to do and the proper application of his powers to things needed to be done." - Fredrick Douglas Erik’s specialty was sales. He held various roles over the years progressively increasing his portfolio and scope, from Enterprise Account Executive at Spectrum, Commercial Account Executive at Docebo and Account Manager at Cornerstone OnDemand. His last role was Sr. Account Executive at Absorb Software. Erik was a mentor to many, assisting with their job placement. He believed in helping others, so much so he created a non-profit with his partner Ali Ahmed. The focus was to provide a platform for Black Professionals to find career opportunities with companies hiring in Texas that are focused on achieving a Diverse and Inclusive workforce, Texas Black Careers. Erik married the love of his life, Kimberly Patrick-Beans on July 24, 2024. They met at Texas State University and were always in one another’s orbit. He found his good thing. Erik leaves to enjoy his memories his loving wife Kimberly Patrick Beans, parents Edward and Cathy Beans and mother in love Mary Patrick, his brothers Jovan Beans, and Samuel Beans (Viviana), Nephews Jordan, Dante, D’Angelo and Niece Jasmine Beans. Aunts, Uncles, cousins and friends considered family.
