Charles Ray Synagogue, Jr. was the first born son on December 23, 1968 in Austin, Texas to Charles Synagogue Sr. and Cynthia Ann Synagogue. He was educated in the Austin Independent School District and a graduate of Sidney Lanier High School, Austin Class of 1987. He accepted Christ as his personal savior at an early age and was baptized by his grandfather Reverend J.D. Cleveland. Charles was a faithful member of the Union Lee Missionary Baptist Church until his death. He was a 30 year employee in the maintenance department at H.E.B. #6 and recently retired in 2014. Charles was a dedicated employee and took great pride in all he did to maintain the store. His kindness and willingness to help others was a trademark that he carried out his entire life. Charles although ill for the later part of his life, never let that get him down. He was always ready to share a smile or a laugh. Even after retirement, he was always thinking of ways to make money. He was a member of planet fitness where he would love to spend hours socializing with others. Charles was very protective of his family and made sure that it was known. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Synagogue, Sr., maternal grandmother and his maternal grandfather, Joseph Synagogue and Mrs. Bertha Golden, step-father James Holliday Jr. uncles: Willie Cleveland and Robert Synagogue. aunts: Beverly Johnson, Francis Jones, Jeanne Witherspoon, and Linda Cleveland. Charles is survived by his loving mother, Cynthia Holliday, Austin Texas; grandparents Reverend J.D. and Sallie Cleveland. Brothers, Marcus Holliday (Ambroshia); Patrick Holliday (Kristin); Reggie Stewart (Carletta). Sisters, Natasha Truss (Howard), Glyn Walker (Jermaine); Yonis Holliday; Karen Holliday; LeAnn Holliday, Shemeka Synagogue (Robert). Nephews: Pvt. 2 Lennard, Ayden, Avery, Chase, Jordan, Jamison, Ruben, Tyrell, and Travon. Nieces: Symone, Sierra, Taylor, and Tiana. Uncles and Aunts: Charles Moore (AnaMaria); Joe David Cleveland, Randolph Cleveland (Portia); Howard Cleveland (Sharon). Aunts: Cellestine Williams (Ronald); Doris Hill (Columbus); Vickie Hillard (Willie). A host of relatives and friends along with the Union Lee Church Family who will miss him dearly.
