Obituary: Bobbie Louise Griffin Sunrise January 23, 1962 - Sunset January 27, 2023 It is with a heavy heart that we say farewell to Bobbie Louise Griffin, a shining light who brightened the lives of all who knew her. On Friday, January 27, 2023, Bobbie passed away peacefully in her Austin, TX home, surrounded by her loved ones. Bobbie was born on January 23, 1962, in Brownfield, Texas, a small town in West Texas. From a young age, she had a deep faith and accepted Christ at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Thrall. As she grew up in Thrall, she attended local schools and later moved to Taylor, Texas, where she graduated from Taylor High School in 1981. During her senior year, she shone as a star of the Pep Squad and was voted "Best Dressed" by her classmates. Bobbie's natural beauty and grace led her to pursue a career in modeling, and she spent some time studying the craft in California. Upon her return to Texas, she competed in pageants across the state, embodying the essence of poise and elegance. When she wasn't in front of the camera, Bobbie worked for IBM in Austin and brought her sparkling personality and infectious laughter to her coworkers. Bobbie's warmth and kindness knew no bounds, and she was always the life of the party, lifting the spirits of all those around her. She had a great sense of humor that was loved by everyone, and she was deeply devoted to her family, friends, and the love of her life, Joe Burton. Bobbie's love was strongest for her three children, Kadeidra O’Dasha Reeves, Kameron Daniella Reeves, and Keisland Patrick Smalls (Toi), and her beloved grandson, Aiden Smalls. Bobbie will be deeply missed by her life companion, Joe Burton of Austin, TX, her siblings, Daneta (Carol) Bozeman and Kemberly George of Austin, TX, Lanora Drake (Tommy) of Odessa, TX, Tiffany Griffin-Pratt (Mori) and Vylinda Griffin of Lubbock, TX, Anthony Irvin (Tracy) of Thrall, TX, Nelson Irvin (Sharon) of Pflugerville, TX, Mark Griffin and Robert Griffin (Carrie) of Hobbs, NM, and her stepmother, Shirley Griffin of Hobbs, NM. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other loved family and friends, including her special brother-in-law Alvin (Pop) Jackson of Blue, TX. Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Louis Griffin, Sr. and Nobie Nell Mays, her grandparents, Rainey and Dora Mays, Henry Griffin, Sr. and Cora B. Griffin, and her siblings Robert Griffin, Jr., Patrick Irvin, and Doris Nell Griffin (Starks). Despite her passing, Bobbie's memory will live on in the hearts of all those she touched, and her joyous spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us all.
