Bernadette Collier Howard was born June 26, 1948 in Austin, Texas the only daughter born to Ethel Mae Blue Collier and Willis Melvin Collier, Sr. She confessed her belief in God at an early age and was a member at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church in Austin, Texas. Bernadette attended school in the Austin Independent School District at Blackshear Elementary, Kealing Junior High School and graduated from L.C. Anderson High School (66). Bernadette worked with the Travis State School, Foodland, Market Basket and the Craig House. Bernadette was united in Holy Matrimony to Nathaniel Howard, Sr., to which two children were born. Nathaniel Howard Jr. and Lori Ann Howard. Later in life another son Jason Wayne Collins joined the family. Bernadette was a member of Moten Chapter #126, District 8 & 9, Queen of Sheba Grand Chapter and affiliated with Female High Degree Department. Bernadette was an active volunteer with the Round Rock Police Department's Volunteers in Policing Program. She strives to provide assistance to others while being professional and courteous to all she encountered. By volunteering sixteen hours of her time in 2014 to the SALT Program. Bernadette was preceded in death by her father, Willis Melvin Collier Sr., Mother Ethel Mae Blue Collier, Paternal Grandmother Ruthie Mae Mackey Matthews, One special Aunt Edna Colleen Collier Tatum, Sisters Diane Collier and Brenda Collier and one brother Donald Lee Collier. Bernadette is survived by her loving family: One daughter Lori Howard, Austin, Tx; two sons Nathaniel Howard Jr. (Marilyn), Austin, Tx and Jason Collins, Sr. Austin, Tx.. Three Brothers Eddie Ray Collier (Sheila),Tucker, Ga.; Mark Collier, Houston, Tx; Willis Collier Jr.,(Lotty), Houston, Tx; Four Sisters Cheryl Collier, Austin, Tx; Adrienne Collier, Houston, Tx,; Bridgette Collier, Houston, Tx, Monique Collier, Minneapolis, MN. Bernadette has four grandchildren: Brittany Hodge, D'onna Hodge, Jason Collins Jr., Tia Rucker. Five great grandchildren: Deontre McDaniel, Anaya McDaniel, Paityn Wilson, Paul Wilson III, Khaila Paul and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and friends.
