Barbara attended LL Campbell Elementary, Kealing Junior High School and LC Anderson High School and she graduated in 1962. Barbara worked as a Physical Therapist at Travis State School for over 20 years. Barbara enjoyed reading, teaching, word search puzzles, sitting outside people watching and playing on all 4 of her tablets and traveling to Maryland and Florida!! She also enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids. She loved giving encouraging words to everyone no matter what day or time it was. This should make everyone laugh if you knew mommy, she “loved” traveling to Coushatta with Charles on his golf trips. He would play golf while she visited the casino. Last but not least mommy’s favorite thing was drinking a PEPSI!! Sister Barbara Organ became a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church in 1984 under the leadership of the Late Pastor Thomas L. Sneed. She came in and started working immediately as a help to the Ushers before joining. After she joined, she became the Church Clerk and served in many other capacities as well, such as the young adult Sunday School teacher and the youth teacher. She served in BTU as a Sword Drill Instructor and she serves as the Vacation Bible School Director putting together her team of teachers and staff for twelve years (2007-2019). She served as the Mission Vice President under Sister Cynthia Bradford and Sister Darlene Hardeman from 2011-2018. She became the President of the Mission under the Leadership of Pastor John M. Perez from 2018-2021. She served and was a great example of what a willing worker likes. We here at Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church Thank God for allowing her to be a part of our lives. We will definitely miss her soft voice, pleasant smile, her sense of humor and her presence here. Barbara met the love of her life Charles W. Organ whom she married on February 28, 1979 and to this union 5 children were born. Barbara leaves to cherish her loving memory of her husband of 42 years Charles Organ. Her five children Angela Williams (Shedrick) of Maryland; Eric W. Organ of Austin Texas; Andrea Fowler (James) of Elgin Texas; Terri Gratten (Ted) of Austin Texas; Darrell Organ of Austin Texas, 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She had 7 brothers whom are all deceased; Arthur Williams, Solomon Claude Hubert, Andrew McDonald, Melvin Ray, Mark McDonald, Harry McDonald and Charles McDonald She had 3 sisters: Stella (Winnie) Bryant of Austin, Texas, Jeanette Swain (deceased) and Shirley Holiday (deceased).
