Life’s Journey Annie Louise Spence Jones was born on September 7, 1939 to the late Roy and Clara Hardin Spence. At an early age Annie accepted Christ and was Baptist at Mt. Zion Baptist Church under S.A Davis. She continued her followship at Mt. Zion Baptist Church under Rev. G.V. Clark, where she served as a Silver Solider, and later moved her membership to Mt. Pleasant Primitive Baptist Church of Cedar Creek, Tx under Elder Edward Herndon where she was named one of the mothers of the church. Her life was a reflection of strong faith and enduring love; she remained dedicated in her walk through Christ. Annie attended AISD schools. She was employed with AISD (Rosedale Elementary School) where she enjoyed being a teacher’s aid for special needs students, she also worked for the University of Texas at Austin. On July 8, 1955 she married Willie L. Jones Sr. and was married for 70 years, 9 months until her passing. In that union 4 children were born Willie (Tank), Barbara, Roy, and Deborah. Leaving with heavy hearts, Annie Jones who is known by her family as “Grandme” left this world on April 7, 2026 at the age of 86. Though our hearts ache with loss, we are deeply grateful for the time we shared and the love she gave so freely. From the very beginning, she brought light and warmth into the lives of those around her. She grew into someone who embodied kindness, strength, humor, compassion and touching countless lives with a gentle spirit and a generous heart. To know Annie was to love her. She had a way of making people feel seen, heard, and valued. Whether through a comforting word, a shared laugh, or simply being present, Annie created meaningful connections that will never be forgotten. She found joy in life’s simple moments, family gatherings, music, cooking, helping others, nature, fishing, visiting the Casino, and etc. Above all, Annie cherished her family and friends, who were the center of her world. Annie is proceeded in death by her (parents)Roy and Clara Spence, (brother) Bill Spence. Annie leaves to cherish: (her husband) Willie L. Jones Sr, (son)Willie L. Jones Jr (Eva), (daughter) Barbara Jones Simmons (Willie-Deceased), (son) Roy Jones (Kimmie), (daughter) Deborah Jones Johnson (LaVell). (12) Grandchildren: Anthony (Shannon), Clayton (Lexssi), Brian (Valeria), Justin, Roy Jr. (Taryn), Eric, Akire, Lewis, Jaylund, Aleeyah, LaTanya, and LaTara. (11) Great Grandchildren: Breanna, Ryland, Braylon, Eva, Noah, Jonathan, Bailey, Aaryn, Emery, Alana, and Naomi. Her (sister)Gracie Sneed (of California), (sister) Mary Ann Howard, (brother) Harris Washington (Barbara), (brother) Charles Mitchell, and (sister-in-law) Lola, Grace (James), Joyce, Shirley and the McDonald brother-in-law and sisters-in-law. She’s leaving a host of relatives and cherish friends. While we mourn this profound loss, we also celebrate a life beautifully lived. Annie’s love, laughter, and spirit will remain in our hearts forever, guiding us and comforting us in the days ahead. Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever remembered.
