He was the sixth of seven children. Marcus attended school in Smithville, where he graduated and moved on for his life's journey. He traveled for a bit before making his home in Austin, Texas. Marcus Jackson met and then married Annie Roberson, and to this Union two children was born, Marcus Lanier Jackson and Carrie Ann Jackson. They were a loving couple, together for 55 years until God called him home. Wherever Marcus was, Annie was right there by his side. They enjoyed traveling all over the United States vacationing and going to Jazz Festivals. Marcus enjoyed spending time with his family. He was very close to all of his sisters and brothers and their children. He loved to go bike riding, play cards, dominoes and just simply enjoy some nice Jazz music. Marcus was employed as a bartender at country clubs, for years. He became self-employed because he had a dream of owning his own business one day, in which was a Janitorial Service, for 17 years. He wanted a change, so he became employed by Capital Metro as a bus driver for the next 23 years, until he retired in December 2019. Marcus was a jack of all trades. One thing about Mr. Marcus Eugene Jackson, is he could dress. If you knew him, or even if you didn't, when you saw him, he was Sharp. During Marcus E. Jackson formative years, he joined Pleasant Grove Baptist church, under the leadership of Pastor J.J. Dixon. He served on the Usher board during his membership at Pleasant Grove. In 1995 Marcus joined Mount Sinai Baptist Church where he was a member under the leadership of Pastor A. W. Anthony Mays, until his health began to fail him. Marcus was preceded in death by his parents Willie and Carrie Jackson; three Sisters Sewilla Jackson Valentine, Pearl Greenville, Ruby Lucille Smith; two brothers Willie and Van S Jackson; one daughter Regina Jackson, and one granddaughter Rachel Jackson. He leaves to mourn, his wife Annie Jackson, two sons Nathaniel Eugene Blaylock (Erica), Marcus Lanier Jackson (La Tonya), one daughter Carrie Ann Jackson, fourteen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, four sisters-in-law, and a Very Dear sister-in-law Tena Roberson, a Special sister-in-law and friend Lorraine Roberson, a bonus sister-in-law Myrtle Jackson (Ray) and five brothers-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, and special friends and coworkers of Capital Metro.
